Meet Erin
Hi! I’m Erin Thompson, the face behind Adventure Scruff Academy.
I have owned dogs my whole life and have always loved being around them. I got my first pet gig in elementary school walking my neighbors’ Golden Retriever, Blondie. She was an exceptional girl and really solidified my love of dogs.
In 2015, I purchased my own dog Phoebe, a GSP. While showing and hunting were not for her, she brought me into the world of sports. Soon after, I got Spy! With him, I have trained and competed in hunt tests, dock diving, rally, trick dog, and my personal favorite, conformation. After finishing Spy’s championship in 2019, I began showing friends’ dog. Currently, I have started and finished 8 AKC champions! More recently, I have added two wonderful young dogs—Berk the Samoyed and Squid the Belgian Sheepdog. They have allowed me to experience even more of the dog sport world.
Given my variety of dog breeds, I enjoy all personalities of our canine companions and use that knowledge to best care for any dog that stays with me.

Dogs will stay indoors, in our home, during their stay. During the day they will hang out in my office and have access to our large, fenced yard. We include enrichment such as food puzzles and neighborhood walks. We also have free pick up and drop off services.

Yes, I send photo and video updates throughout your dog’s stay so you can see what they are up to and how much fun they are having!

Our above ground pool is 16×32 feet and our dock is 20×8 feet. While this is not a regulation dock, it is a great place to practice technique, enjoy cooling off in these hot Austin summers, or introduce a dog to the world of Dock Diving.

This specialized board and train program focuses wholly on the sport of Conformation. Whether is is AKC or UKC, this program will help get your pup ready for the show ring. It is highly customizable allowing us to target whatever goal you have, whether that’s nailing a killer free stack or even just making it through the exam with confidence.
